Spiritual & Leadership Development

Mentoring | ongoing
Most kids in our neighborhood come from broken homes and painful relationships. Want to change the course of someone's life? Then come love on one of our kids; they need you! All you have to do is develop a relationship with them and provide encouragement, support and spiritual guidance. Not only will their life change, but so will yours. Mentor someone today! Contact Terry.

Mentoring Expectant Mothers | ongoing
A special mentoring opportunity exists to help our expectant mothers through those challenging months leading up to and after delivery.  Become a mentor that helps two lives simultaneously! Contact Karen.

Bible Studies | various times throughout the school year
Children in our after-school programs (Caldwell Learning Center Tutoring and Read to Succeed - see below) not only get educational encouragement, but spiritual as well!! Each time we meet with them we share a Bible story, a verse and prayer. These are not traditional Bible studies, but rather interspersed Biblical instruction woven into the time they spend with us. Your heart will surely be moved when you get to know these precious kids! Contact Brenda.

Bible Camp | various times throughout the summer
Volunteer your time or sponsor an inner city teenager for $150 to have the opportunity to get out of the city and away from the noise of their everyday lives that distract them from God!! For most kids, this camp will be the first time they've gone beyond the city limits and will get to experience such a getaway! Every kid deserves the chance to attend Bible camp; please sponsor someone today or pitch in and give us a hand and provide this potentially life-changing event for them! Send checks to Oasis of Hope and write 'summer camp' in the memo. Contact Terrice.

Vacation Bible School | June 2010
Get ready for an exciting adventure with inner city kids as we explore God's Word, play games, sing songs and make crafts together! The kids look forward to VBS each year and it's impossible to not be moved as you work side-by-side with our students! Contact Karen.

Sports Outreaches | Baseball/Spring 2010
Oasis of Hope provides volunteer coaches and instructors for the summer youth baseball program for kids between the ages of 6 & 15. We are also seeking to form teams again for basketball and soccer as well. Being a part of a team not only teaches the skills of the game, but also demonstrates teamwork, commitment, good sportsmanship and allows us the opportunity to make a positive difference in a young person's life. Last year the Giants took home the championship title; read the story!  Come coach with us! Contact Michael.

ManRise Football Camp | First Weekend in August 2010
Oasis of Hope hosts the Manassas High School football team to come to a three-day camp based out of Hope Presbyterian Church. Our volunteers then have the incredible chance to not only improve the boys' physical game play, but more importantly their spiritual game. Bible studies, prayer and one-on-one attention are interspersed into their athletic training. It's an awesome platform that allows our volunteers to provide positive role models, Biblical instruction, teamwork, and the guy-time they've been missing in their lives. Please volunteer your time or sponsor a football player for $50 today (and then come and cheer them on during a game)!  Follow the team by reading more on our Manassas Football page.  Fore more information, contact us.
