Oasis Takes the Sting Out of Filing Taxes

Five years ago Oasis of Hope began offering Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) to the residents in the Oasis neighborhood.  The site, located at the Bickford Community Center helps individuals and families file their income taxes for FREE. Statistics have shown that more than 60% of Memphis residents do not take advantage of the earned income tax credits available to them, and many residents have been tricked into paying huge fees to have their taxes filed.  Therefore, we began seeking to address these injustices and provide help in this important area where families live.  Read more>>
